Stairs using the EZ
2
                  Stair example

  A stair with a 7 1/2" rise and a 10" tread
 7 1/2" rise 10" run 12 1/2" diagonal 9"pitch or 36.87 degrees
  • mark 12 1/2" increments along the top of the
    stringer.
  • Set the tee guide to a 9" pitch or 36.87 degrees.
  • Press the guide firmly to the bottom of the stringer.
  • align the 16" leg with the increment mark and scribe the riser.
  • align the 24" leg with the increment mark and scribe the tread.
  • continue sliding the square connecting the increments."
Stairs are the same concept as rafters, rise and run.
After a few minutes of using the EZ
2 ,the operator
may see there are other ways to lay out stair
stringers that they might feel more comfortable with
With the EZ2  the 24" leg is always the run and the 16" leg
is always the rise. It does not matter if the guide is on top
or bottom of the rafter or stringer.
